The short version: Billo prices the finished video and keeps the fee inside it. JoinBrands prices the creator and adds its fee on top, which is cheaper at low creator rates and harder to forecast at higher ones.
How Billo pricing works
Billo sells prepaid packs that load money onto your balance, and larger packs come with a bonus. Every order and add on is deducted from that balance. Billo's own pricing explainer, published in October 2026, says videos start at 99 USD and the final price depends on video length, extra aspect ratios, Regular or Premium creators, extra hooks or variations, an optional complexity bonus for harder shoots, and extra footage priced by the creator. Creator pay is included, so there is nothing to negotiate with each person. The balance stays valid for 12 months and packs do not renew on their own. Billo does not publish its pack sizes, so you will see the exact amounts only after you sign up. Full usage rights apply once you approve a video, which covers ads and your own channels. If you want someone else to run the whole program, Billo also sells a managed service. Our earlier comparison of Billo alternatives covers what else sits in that price range.
How JoinBrands pricing works
JoinBrands charges per creator plus a platform fee, and the fee falls as the plan rises. Its help center describes four plans with fees of 15, 12, 10 and 8 percent.
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual billing | Platform fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay as you go | 0 USD | 0 USD | 15 percent |
| Startup | 99 USD | 89 USD per month | 12 percent |
| Brand | 299 USD | 269 USD per month | 10 percent |
| Agency | 499 USD | 449 USD per month | 8 percent |
Paid plans include monthly credits you can spend on campaigns. Creators set their own rates, and JoinBrands lists UGC videos from 25 USD. In practice, creators who film ad ready videos with a script and good light charge more than the floor, so budget for the creator you actually want, not the cheapest one on the platform. The JoinBrands pricing page and the plan guide in its help center are the sources for this table.
What 10 UGC videos cost on Billo vs JoinBrands
Here is a first order of 10 videos for one product. The Billo line uses its published starting price. The JoinBrands lines assume creators who charge 75 USD per video. That is an assumption for the example, so swap in the rates from your own shortlist.
| Cost line | Billo | JoinBrands pay as you go | JoinBrands Startup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan | 0 USD | 0 USD | 99 USD |
| 10 videos | 990 USD | 750 USD | 750 USD |
| Platform fee | Included | 112.50 USD | 90 USD |
| Total before product and extras | 990 USD | 862.50 USD | 939 USD |
| Cost per video | 99 USD | about 86 USD | about 94 USD |
On a single small order, JoinBrands pay as you go comes out slightly cheaper. The math flips once your JoinBrands creators charge more than about 86 USD per video, because the 15 percent fee then pushes the total past Billo's 99 USD. It moves the other way if you hire 25 to 50 USD creators for TikTok Shop affiliate videos. Both totals exclude the product you ship, extra hooks and editing. If you need edited ads with several hooks per concept, an agency package can cost less per usable ad than either platform. Our guide to UGC agency pricing shows where that line sits.
Where Billo wins and where JoinBrands wins
Billo wins when the video is going straight into paid ads. Its offer is built around ad performance, the price per video is predictable, the fee is inside the price, and the managed service takes briefing and creator management off your team. Brands that do not want to review dozens of applicants or negotiate rates tend to prefer it. JoinBrands wins on price floor and range of jobs. Its plans cover UGC videos and images, TikTok Shop affiliate videos and lives, Amazon shoppable videos, and product sampling, so a seller who needs volume across TikTok Shop and Amazon can run all of it in one account. The trade off is work: you write the brief, pick creators, chase revisions and often edit the raw clips into ads yourself. Before you brief creators on either platform, you can draft hooks and ad scripts from your product link so every creator films the same tested angle.
Which one fits your brand
- Pick Billo if you buy UGC for Meta and TikTok ads, order a few batches a year, and want one price per video with rights included.
- Pick JoinBrands if you sell on TikTok Shop or Amazon, need many low cost videos or product seeding, and have someone in house to manage creators.
- Pick a managed agency if you spend enough on ads that creative fatigue drives your costs and you need new hooks every month. Beauty brands should start with our beauty UGC agency list, and Amazon sellers with Amazon UGC agencies.
- Compare a third option first if your shortlist also includes Insense, whose subscription model we broke down in Insense pricing.
Is Billo better than JoinBrands?
Billo is better for brands that want ad ready UGC with a fixed price per video and little management, while JoinBrands is better for brands that want the cheapest creators and content for TikTok Shop and Amazon. Neither is better for every brand. Compare what you will spend on 10 videos and how many hours your team can give the project.
How much does Billo cost per video?
Billo videos start at 99 USD each according to Billo's own pricing explainer. The final price rises with longer videos, extra aspect ratios, Premium creators, extra hooks or variations and extra footage. You pay from a prepaid balance that stays valid for 12 months, with no subscription.
Does JoinBrands charge a platform fee?
Yes. JoinBrands adds a platform fee to what you pay creators: 15 percent on the free pay as you go plan, 12 percent on Startup, 10 percent on Brand and 8 percent on Agency. Paid plans cost 99, 299 or 499 USD per month, less when billed annually.
Do I own the videos I buy on Billo and JoinBrands?
Both give you broad usage rights once you pay. Billo grants full usage rights after you approve a video, for ads and your own channels. JoinBrands lists unlimited usage rights on purchased content. Running a video from the creator's own account as a Spark Ad or partnership ad still needs that creator's authorization, so ask for it in the brief.
Which is better for TikTok Shop?
JoinBrands is the stronger fit for TikTok Shop because its plans include TikTok Shop affiliate videos and lives as well as product sampling, and creators there often work at lower rates. Billo focuses on UGC for paid ads on TikTok and Meta. If TikTok is your main channel, also compare the agencies on our TikTok UGC agencies page.
